Rams just found a way to keep 49ers fans out of SoFi Stadium this season

Let's truly see how well Niners fans travel now.

It's almost gotten to a laughable point whenever the Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers at SoFI Stadium.

Technically, it's a home game for LA. But the crowd is almost exclusively donned in red and supporting the Niners, forcing head coach Sean McVay's offense into silent counts to account for the road team's crowd noise.

Even longtime NFL play-by-play announcer Al Michaels couldn't help himself by joking how the Rams "just rent the place" when San Francisco visited LA early last season.

"Levi's Stadium South," as SoFI Stadium is frequently called by 49ers fans, likely won't change anytime soon to an LA-friendly venue whenever the Niners come to town, especially in light of San Francisco fans being on record, currently, as the best-traveling fanbase in the league.

So, to prevent yet another SoFI takeover, why not just move the 49ers-Rams game far, far away?

49ers-Rams game in Australia denies the Faithful a chance at SoFI takeover

Just ahead of Super Bowl 60, several outlets confirmed LA would host the Niners in the NFL's first-ever game in Australia, to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds, most likely in Week 1.

Since Los Angeles is one of the teams holding territorial rights in Australia and New Zealand, it'd be a home game for the Rams, meaning San Francisco would be the road team.

While attending fans down under can pick and choose whichever team they want to support, there's undeniably an effort there by either LA or the league to ensure 49ers fans aren't showing up in droves to what should be a home game for the Rams in their home SoFI venue.

Simply put, no SoFI takeover this year.

Nothing official has come out to support this, of course. But it's impossible to conclude anything else when considering how lopsided the fan attendance has been in favor of the Niners whenever a game between the two NFC West rivals is played at SoFI.

The best way to keep that from happening again?

Play the game down under.
