While San Francisco 49ers fans have a reputation for traveling well, perhaps no other venue across the NFL experiences this harder than SoFI Stadium, the home of both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Niners' Week 5 opponent, the Los Angeles Rams.
Of course, one has to admit there are plenty of Niners fans who live in the greater LA area, so perhaps it wasn't too big of a travel requirement to attend the Thursday Night Football showdown between the two NFC West rivals. But, regardless of how far each fan in red had to travel to check out a battle of 3-1 teams, it was painfully obvious the home team didn't have the home crowd on its side.
And even legendary NFL broadcast Al Michaels couldn't avoid the topic.
Michaels chimed in after the game went to overtime, pointing out how there were boos at Rams head coach Sean McVay calling a timeout just before a critical 4th-and-1 stop by San Francisco's defense led to the 49ers' 26-23 victory.
However, color commentator Kirk Herbstreit noted how the boos were coming from the swarms of Niners fans, not LA fans, which prompted Michaels' own response.
"The PA announcer here likes to scream, 'whose house?'" Michaels responded. "Not tonight. Sometimes, the Rams are just renting the place."

49ers continue trend of turning SoFI Stadium into 'Levi's South'
This isn't the first, second or even third time conversations about the Faithful taking over SoFI have boiled to the surface.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, publicly had to make pleas for LA fans not to sell tickets to Niners fans back in 2022 after a regular-season showdown earlier that season was almost entirely dominated by fans in red.
Similarly, there have been accusations on how Los Angeles has been forced to pump in fake crowd noise anytime San Francisco's offense is on the field, including a recent blast by former 49ers long-snapper Taybor Pepper.
Any time I think about the Rams, I think about how much crowd noise was pumped in the stadium during that NFC Championship game.

Never heard SoFi that loud before or after that game and Iām pretty sure the Niner fans were still the majority of ticket holders that game too š§
In fact, some may argue Niners fans make SoFI louder in their favor than when they attend home games at Levi's Stadium, perhaps because of the indoor accoustics.
Who knows?
Either way, the Rams' home venue isn't a home venue whenever San Francisco comes to town, and even Michaels couldn't let that one slip.
