Jets linebacker Quincy Williams had nothing but compliments for 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy at media row ahead of Super Bowl 58.

While it probably won't come out and say it, it sure seems as if New York Jets All-Pro linebacker Quincy Williams is a big San Francisco 49ers fan.

Perhaps not in the traditional sense. But it's possible to see the pipeline with Williams playing underneath former Niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, now Gang Green's head coach in the Big Apple.

With Super Bowl 58 just days away, Williams is one of many who'll eagerly await a rematch of Super Bowl 54 between San Francisco and the defending-champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Our colleagues over at FanSided's Stacking the Box Podcast sat down with Williams to get his scoop on the Super Bowl as well as a few pointers about the 49ers' quarterback, Brock Purdy.

It sure seems as if Williams is a Purdy fan, too.

Quincy Williams picks 49ers to win Super Bowl 58, says Brock Purdy is a 'playmaking' QB

When asked which team he was picking to win Super Bowl 58, the All-Pro didn't hesitate.

"You want the inside scoop? I'm rocking with the 49ers," Williams responded.

Hosts Sterling Holmes and Malcom Harris-Gowdie, the latter being a Niners fan, wanted to know why Williams was so confident in his answer.

"You're looking for my key points," Williams continued. "I'm going with that stacked offense. And they're led, I'm going to say 'lead' because he hasn't been getting the recognition he needs to be getting, Brock Purdy. That man is a playmaking quarterback."

There has been plenty of chatter surrounding whether or not Purdy is a mere game manager or is more of the playmaking caliber, much of it stemming from former NFL MVP quarterback Cam Newton's criticisms of Purdy. Many have also echoed similar sentiments about Purdy, pointing out here's a mere product of head coach Kyle Shanahan's system and a beneficiary of Pro Bowl- and All-Pro-level talent around him.

Wiliams doesn't buy it, though.

"He's making plays, bro," Williams continued. "He's making all the people around him... he's putting it all together. He's like the glue to it all.

When asked to elaborate even further, Williams simply added, "He's a playmaker, for real."

Purdy and the Niners will square off against the Chiefs on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET for the right to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
