Christian McCaffrey's mom on Taylor Swift: 'She’s dead to us this week'

At least the McCaffrey family is having some good fun with their Taylor Swift fandom ahead of Super Bowl 58.

Normally, Christian McCaffrey's mom would have no problem listening to Taylor Swift. But there's a Super Bowl to be played, and Swift is on the wrong side.

If there's one thing you won't hear when visiting the house of San Francisco 49ers All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey's mom, Lisa McCaffrey, it's the tunes of pop and country megastar Taylor Swift.

Now this probably isn't uncommon among Niners fans at the moment. After all, their team is preparing to square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58.

Unless you've been living under a rock the last few months, Swift just so happens to be dating Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, and the relationship is awfully public with the music icon regularly attending KC games to support her boyfriend.

If you're wondering whether or not Swift will be able to make it to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas, Nevada, despite playing in Japan not long before, don't worry. There has been massive research put into determining that she'll be there on time.

Lisa McCaffrey isn't tracking those flight plans, though. Far from it.

Christian McCaffrey's mom jokes about Taylor Swift: 'She's dead to us'

Both Lisa and Ed McCaffrey, the latter being a wide receiver for the Niners during their last Super Bowl win in 1995, were multisport athletes in college at Stanford where they met.

As far as music, though, Lisa McCaffrey does enjoy Taylor Swift. A lot, in fact. Just not now.

Speaking on a podcast with Christian McCaffrey's fiancé, Olivia Culpo, Lisa McCaffrey joked about there being absolutely no Taylor Swift music in the house right now (h/t Sportskeeda)

"I refuse to listen to Taylor Swift songs for the next couple days.. I love her, I love the relationship [with Travis Kelce], but we are boycotting any T. Swift songs. If she pops up on the radio station … nope. She’s dead to us this week."

Epic.

It sure seems as if this is all in good fun, and Lisa McCaffrey's comments aren't going to anger the throngs of Swifties who'll almost universally be pulling for KC to win its second Super Bowl crown in as many years.

But, at least until Super Bowl 58 becomes a memory, it's almost certain that no Taylor Swift tune will be gracing Lisa McCaffrey's speakers at all.

The Niners and Chiefs square off on Sunday, Feb. 11 for the right to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
