Like the San Francisco 49ers, the Niner Noise Podcast took some time after the loss in the NFC Divisional Round to take a break. The NFL, of course, is a 12-month league, so any moment to stop is appreciated.
But now your favorite Niners podcast is back to talk about everything that has happened since the season ended.
And there has been so much to discuss in the interim.
Your hosts, site contributors Robert Morrison and Akshaj Dwivedula, begin with a discussion they'd rather ignore: another NFC West team won the Super Bowl in the 49ers' building. This is bad on two fronts, both of which are ripe for conversation between your intrepid hosts.
The most important piece of it, however, is how the Seattle Seahawks' win impacts what San Francisco will do moving forward, especially as it relates to a vital offseason heading into the 2026 season. The Niners and Los Angeles Rams both know that they need to take out the defending champs, not just to win a title of their own, but to even get out of the NFC West division, which alters the approach for both teams.

Other topics from the front end of the episode include George Kittle and whether he really has a chance to return early next season, Christian McCaffrey's big night at NFL Honors (and how it could have been bigger), and a brief disussion about Robert's takeaways about the AMC+ series, The Rise of the 49ers.
The back half of this edition looks at the two largest changes in the 49ers since the last pod: the hiring of Raheem Morris as the new defensive coordinator, and the announcement that the Niners will travel to Melbourne, Australia, to play the Rams next season.
There's plenty of meat on the bone for both discussions, as both hosts share their thoughts about adding Morris to the coaching staff and how it might impact the team next year.
The Australia trip conversation is also lively, but quickly turns to talking about the fact that the 49ers are reportedly also getting a second international game in 2026, likely in Mexico City. Your hosts believe they know the team the Niners are going to face in that game.
All of this and more can be heard on the latest edition of the Niner Noise Podcast. You can find the pod on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, or wherever you get your podcasts. Or you can check out the pod's website for this and all other episodes.
