The circus show that is San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been entertaining, if nothing else. What started as a temper tantrum has gradually turned into a situation in which those around the league have begun to voice concerns about his mental well-being.

Now, the time has potentially come where the pass catcher has reached the final chapter of his tirade, and it might not end the way he wants it to.

It's long been known that Aiyuk wishes to land with the Washington Commanders when all is said and done. NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco noted his relationship with now-Washington general manager Adam Peters, but voiced doubts that it would warrant the Commanders taking a flier on the 28-year-old.

Maiocco finished the sentiment with an ominous line.

"I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility, or out of the question, to think that Brandon Aiyuk has played his final NFL game," the analyst said.

49ers receiver could finally be past the point of no return

For a while now, it's been clear Aiyuk has played his last snap in a 49ers uniform, but his standing in the league has been subject to question.

That is, until Aiyuk continued to seal his own fate on social media. One or two online fits are somewhat reasonable, as far as NFL divas go. Lately, though, the receiver has been lighting the social media world on fire nearly every day, and the posts keep growing more and more strange. He may have officially gone past the point of no return.

Aiyuk has done everything from calling out the Niners front office to throwing stacks of money on the floor to cheering on the Commanders in his rants. The experience situation has been nothing short of bizarre. Apparently, it has been so disturbing that even the Commanders themselves seem to have shied away from any interest, if there was any in the first place.

Now, he has reached the point where NFL teams might view his risk as too high for the potential reward. If that is the case, then fans might see the receiver take the route of another pass-catching diva.

It was just five years ago when Antonio Brown officially earned himself a one-way ticket out of the league. The sideshow culminated in an on-field temper tantrum, where he took off his jersey and paraded around the sideline before finally heading into the tunnel. It was the last straw in a career that had been marred by drama and antics.

It appears that Aiyuk is attempting to bypass all the effort, as he is managing to attain the same fate in just one offseason. He has already earned the comparison to Brown, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him never step foot on an NFL field again.
