Brandon Aiyuk can't stop doubling down on headache-inducing social media posts

Please, just stop.

For a brief moment, it appeared as if disgruntled San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was going to tone down his anti-Niners rhetoric on social media, perhaps as a way to appease San Francisco's front office a bit more in preparation of an inevitable release.

Indeed, the receiver who hasn't taken the field since October of 2024 deleted several of his Instagram rants about the 49ers, which could've been perceived as more reasons why the Niners would delay his release as long as possible.

So much for that, though.

Aiyuk has ramped up his social media activity this week, culminating in a recent video featuring him in an empty closet with nothing but a backpack, suggesting he's packed up everything in his house for a would-be move to his preferred destination, the Washington Commanders.

As the receiver opens up the backpack, he begins throwing out large amounts of money all over the ground before walking out; the caption reading, "Get ready with me chrome to the dome."

Ugh.

Another video from earlier in the week featured Aiyuk saying, if San Francisco was to release him now, he'd "sign with the Commanders tomorrow."

Double ugh.

Brandon Aiyuk can't be boosting his stock value with his social media activity

At this point, it'd be understandable if the 49ers simply just want to rid themselves of this whole situation sooner than later. If anything, Aiyuk has been a headache ever since he underwent that tumultuous contract extension ahead of the 2024 season before his serious ACL and MCL injuries.

Even tight end George Kittle shed some not-so-positive light on the perception of Aiyuk, warning Washington with, "You guys have fun with that."

Aiyuk's social media behavior can't be concluded as anything else but immature, and even the receiver-needy Commanders have to be monitoring the situation with a substantial grain of caution. There's precisely zero guarantee Aiyuk would conduct himself responsibly upon arrival in Washington, and his recent social media activity suggests more of a distraction than a bona fide positive addition.

But that'd all be the Commanders' worry, assuming they're still eager in signing him once the Niners finally part ways.

Until then, Aiyuk remains a San Francisco-centric headache.
