While the 49ers still have a lot of power with regards to Deebo Samuel, there’s still a chance for a trade, yet the Niners surely won’t partner with these five teams.

San Francisco 49ers first-team All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel has officially requested a trade from the team that drafted him and turned him into a household name over the course of 2021 and beforehand.

Strange, perhaps, given how head coach Kyle Shanahan has fully utilized Samuel’s unique talents. But, in light of contractual impasses and Samuel’s apparent discontent with how he was used as a “wide back” last season, perhaps the 2019 second-round NFL Draft pick out of South Carolina has a strong argument.

Look, if we’re betting here, there’s still a great chance Samuel works things out with the Niners, either agreeing to what’ll still be a lucrative extension and/or finding a way not to be subjected to so much wear and tear as a fill-in running back.

However, if Samuel is truly done, San Francisco might be forced to part ways via trade or could be inclined to move him anyway if the return package is simply too good to pass up.

Unless that trade offer came from one of these five teams.

49ers wouldn’t trade Deebo Samuel to Rams

Would the 49ers trade Samuel within the NFC West? Heck no.

And they especially wouldn’t trade Samuel to the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, who despite having given up so much draft capital for marquee players in recent years and always seem to be pressed up against it, in terms of cap space, nevertheless always figure out ways to onboard more and more high-level talent.

Sure, LA could stand to add another wide receiver to pair with fellow All-Pro Cooper Kupp after losing wideouts Robert Woods and Odell Beckham Jr. on the market and despite adding former Chicago Bears receiver Allen Robinson.

That said, the last thing the Niners want to see is themselves getting weaker while a division rival gets even stronger.
