Reason No. 1: Jets quarterback Sam Darnold’s rough start

A great way for San Francisco to make sure to get the win is to make Jets quarterback Sam Darnold uncomfortable in the pocket.

Darnold had a rough start last week against the Bills, passing for 215 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

He also was sacked three times. While the SF 49ers had some difficulty getting to Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray in Week 1, Darnold doesn’t possess anywhere near the same kind of elusive tendencies as Murray.

Because of this, the 49ers defense will hopefully be able to take advantage of Darnold’s play and dominate the line of scrimmage.

SF 49ers vs. NY Jets: Final thoughts

San Francisco, on all accounts, should be able to go in and take care of business in New York.

The 49ers are, on paper and in-game, a better team on all three phases. There are a lot of areas the Niners should be able to take advantage of in this upcoming game. If head coach Kyle Shanahan and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo play better in this game than they did in Week 1, San Francisco will be in great shape and will come out with a win in Week 2.
