Speaking on the Cold As Balls Podcast, 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel didn’t hold back when it comes to smack-talking the Rams.

The only thing worse about a rival team is not having a rival team, and the San Francisco 49ers are fortunate enough to have a few of those over their storied history.

In recent seasons, however, the rivalry has shifted within the NFC West from the Seattle Seahawks to Southern California with the Los Angeles Rams, magnified by what happened in the 2022 NFC Championship game that led to LA not only beating the Niners but advancing and winning the Super Bowl that season.

While the rivalry is usually limited to the fans, occasionally, it’ll spill out with the players, too.

Including San Francisco’s own All-Pro wide receiver, Deebo Samuel.

Deebo Samuel on 49ers’ rivalry: ‘I hate the Rams with a passion’

Samuel recently joined Kevin Hart on an episode of Laugh Out Loud’s Cold as Balls Podcast, which is quite entertaining if you haven’t seen it.

And it sure seems a bit frigid, too, if you’re not a fan of ice baths.

Either way, Hart and Samuel talked about many things, including the rivalry between the 49ers and the Rams. Interestingly enough, that’s what sparked a pretty noteworthy response from the wide receiver.

When asked what player or team gets his competitive juices flowing, Samuel said, “I hate the Rams with a passion.”

While Samuel admitted some respect for now-Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, he was the specific player mentioned when discussing the NFC West hatred.

It’s not the first time Samuel clapped at Los Angeles, and his notable “beef” with All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been nothing less of entertaining for both fanbases.

Donald and the Rams might have the last laugh, though, since they own a Super Bowl ring.

Samuel is still seeking his, as are the current generation of Niners.
