No. 2: Aldis Hodge as 49ers Running Back Roger Craig

A key member of the 1980s 49ers squads and someone who really should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame right now is running back Roger Craig.

Craig was the first player in league history to have 1,000-plus yards rushing and receiving in a single season in 1985. A feat, might I add that has only been achieved twice since then. Therefore a versatile actor needs to portray him.

Aldis Hodge is a great fit for this role he has a lot of football experience on his resume. He was also on the Friday Night Lights television series, he portrayed quarterback Ray Tatum. Also, he played Brian Banks in a biopic about the high school All-American football star who was wrongly convicted of a crime he didn’t commit.

But where Hodge gets the running back acting chops is the fact that he will be starring as Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown in the upcoming movie, One Night in Miami. Playing the legendary running back that tore up defenses in the 1950s and 1960s will prepare Hodge to play a running back who tore up defenses in the 1980s.
