No. 3: Safety Marcell Harris

Safety Marcell Harris was on the 49ers practice squad in 2019, but he was moved to the active roster in early October.  He appeared in 13 games, starting in four of them. And he had a decent showing in those appearances.

In the 2019 season, Harris played 340 defensive snaps and 192 snaps on special teams. In that time on the field he recorded 40 tackles (23 solo), five passes defended, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Harris, the 2018 sixth-round pick out of Florida, has a good chance to make the 49ers 53-man roster in 2020.

And if he is active during Week 1 of the 2020 season, he should see an expanded role on the team’s defense, with more responsibilities coming as the season progresses.
