No. 4: Linebacker Elijah Lee

One player who spent part of 2019 on the 49ers practice squad was linebacker Elijah Lee. He was activated in November, though, and appeared in eight games for the 49ers. In those eight games, he played 41 snaps on defense and 179 snaps on special teams.

Although Lee spent limited time on the field in 2019, Pro Football Focus graded him at 74.3. For his snaps spent on the field, that is a decent grade and points to his efficiency at the linebacker position.

Lee was the Minnesota Vikings seventh-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. However, he was cut by the Vikings and signed by the 49ers before the 2017 season. He spent the last three seasons with San Francisco.

He is set to become a restricted free agent in 2020. And although he was on the 49ers practice squad for half of last season, he has spent a good portion of the last three seasons on the active roster of the team as well.

If Lee does return to the 49ers, he would be a great depth piece to a linebacking corps that is already shaping up to be one of the best in the league.
