No. 1: Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Aaron Rodgers (Week 6 vs. Green Bay)

I don’t care what anybody says. Aaron Rodgers, not Tom Brady, is the true GOAT (Greatest of All Time).

More from SF 49ers News

Rodgers may have not as much success as Brady, but it is not his fault he has had a consistently worse team and head coach than Brady. Rodgers is the better pure thrower of the football and can make plays whenever he wants to, no matter how hopeless the play looks.

Oh yeah, and he’s also kind of a Hail Mary legend.

What is absolutely insane about this matchup is the fact that when I watch Jimmy Garoppolo, I see a younger version of Rodgers. They both scramble around the pocket in the same way, possess a very similar throwing motion, have the ability to make plays out of nothing and make the teammates around them better.

Just look at the Packers with and without Rodgers last season. And then look at the 49ers with and without Garoppolo last season too.

This matchup will be truly historic. I call this “the baby GOAT versus the GOAT” matchup. It is as — if not more — exciting than watching Brady versus Rodgers.
