The 49ers own the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but approximately when will they be on the clock?

As things stand right now, the San Francisco 49ers are slated to pick at No. 11 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, which kicks off on Thursday, April 24 at 8 p.m. ET from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

That's the first selection of 11 total picks at general manager John Lynch's disposal. And while subsequent rounds beyond Round 1 are vitally important, the first round nevertheless receives the most hype and attention.

Teams are afforded 10 minutes to make their first-round selections, whereas picks in the second round are allocated seven minutes. From Rounds 3 through 6, teams have five minutes, while four minutes are given to making picks in the seventh and final round.

The second and third days of the draft can fly by quickly, at least in terms of pick to pick. But selections made in Round 1 seem to take forever. Even if it's a slam-dunk obvious selection, most teams use the full 10 minutes to announce their pick.

So, what time will the Niners officially be on the clock on Thursday, April 24?

When will the 49ers make their 1st-round NFL Draft pick this year?

Coverage of the draft starts at 8 p.m. ET, but there's usually a five-minute delay before NFL commissioner Roger Goodell takes the podium to announce what'll be the top-drafting Tennessee Titans being on the clock.

Using complex math, and not taking into account the possible scenarios of draft-day trades that ultimately reset the clock, it's possible to predict approximately when San Francisco's number will be called.

Assuming no trades happen between pick Nos. 1 through 10 (unlikely), the 49ers should be on the clock roughly between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. ET.

Of course, teams could make their selections quicker, cutting down on the transition time, while trades within the top 10 could push back the Niners' estimated selection time.
