What uniforms are 49ers wearing vs. Giants on Thursday Night Football?

Primetime games are always good for throwback uniforms, and the 49ers arguably have the best in the NFL right now.

Some may argue the San Francisco 49ers should make a permanent uniform switch from their classic red top and gold pants to the 1994 throwbacks.

You know, the red tops with block-shade numbers and the white pants with the red and black stripe down the side. Even the road throwbacks with the white tops of the same ilk are fantastic.

Thankfully, these alternate uniforms have replaced those terrible red and black uniforms the Niners donned a few years ago (sorry if you liked those, but they were horrible).

San Francisco has yet to wear those over the brief course of the 2023 season so far, though, but that's about to change with a primetime showdown just hours away.

49ers will wear their 1994 throwback uniforms vs. Giants on Thursday Night Football in Week 3

The 49ers already revealed which games (a maximum of three per season) they'll wear their throwbacks, and the first of the three takes place this week on Thursday Night Football versus the visiting New York Giants.

Interestingly enough, the Niners wore their home red jerseys on the road last Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, although SoFI Stadium might as well be considered "Levi's South" because of the sheer number of San Francisco fans in the stands.

For Thursday night, donning those 1994 throwbacks will be perfect considering the contest will be in prime time and on display for the entire nation.

At least those who have Amazon Prime, of course, as that's where Thursday Night Football is currently broadcasted.

The 49ers and Giants kick off on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 8:20 p.m. ET from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
