3 reasons Packers will be a tough opponent for 49ers in divisional round

The Green Bay Packers will not be an easy opponent for the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs.

No. 2: Packers have momentum

They say you want to be playing your best football in January and February, and it looks like that is what the Packers are doing.

After finishing the year on a hot note, they carried that momentum with them into their blowout win against the Cowboys.

The Niners will take their rest, but it is worth remembering that the last time these two teams faced each other, the roles were reversed. The Packers were the one seed in the 2021 season, and the 49ers were the sixth seed, coming off a win against the Cowboys, no less.

The Niners went into frigid Lambeau Field and shocked the No. 1 seed on kicker Robbie Gould’s last-minute field goal.

There is something to be said for a team riding a wave of momentum in the playoffs, and this Packers team feels like they could do that going into Santa Clara on Saturday.
