Ranking every San Francisco 49ers quarterback since 1980
3. Jimmy Garoppolo (2017 to 2022)
After No. 2, this list gets to the point of some subjectivity as no other quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl for San Francisco. For the purpose of this list, we will look at the individual success of the quarterback along with the team's success during their tenure.
Based on that, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo comes in at No. 3. In his tenure as the starter for the 49ers across six seasons, he amassed a 38-17 regular-season record.
Garoppolo was able to lead the team to two NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl appearance, ultimately being upset by Kansas City Chiefs in the big game.
Although limitations in his skill set and being oft-injured may have held him back from winning the Lombardi Trophy, in the only season in which he played every regular-season game, the team went to the Super Bowl.
He finished his time with the Niners with a playoff record of 4-2.
