The San Francisco 49ers officially kicked off training camp on Tuesday, with veterans reporting a week after the rookies arrived. This means one thing: football season is upon us.

That means it is also time for the return of the Niner Noise Podcast.

Your hosts, site contributors Robert Morrison and Akshaj Dwivedula, covered a variety of topics about the upcoming season and what they'll be looking for during training camp, all with an eye of getting you, the super 49ers fan that you are, prepared for the 2024 season.

The bulk of the episode focuses on training camp battles to watch for at key positions as well as a discussion on how various rookies can impact the team, provided they prove themselves during camp. This allows the guys to mention names like tight end Logan Thomas, linebackers Dee Winters and Jalen Graham, cornerbacks Renardo Green and Isaac Yiadom, among other key players to watch as training camp gets rolling.

But, of course, the headliner is the same as it has been through much of the offseason: what is going on between Brandon Aiyuk and the Niners? The veteran wide receiver and the team have been struggling through contract negotiations most of the offseason, and after Aiyuk didn't report for OTAs or minicamp, there was concern about whether or not he'd show up to camp.

With Aiyuk reporting for training camp, your podcast hosts dig into what it means that he is in Santa Clara and how it could impact the contract proceedings from here. Time will tell if this spells good news in that regard.

From there, the episode wraps with a hodgepodge of other topics surrounding the 2024 season and beyond, including some over/under win totals, USA Today's Super Bowl picks, and much more.
