How to listen to 49ers vs. Vikings NFL Week 2 game on the radio

Decades ago, the only way to follow a football game live was by listening to it on the radio.

Times have changed, but the radio option remains the same.

The 49ers visit the Vikings in Week 2, and here's how fans in both markets can tune in live via the radio.

The San Francisco 49ers aim to get out to an early season win streak after dominating the New York Jets in Week 1 on Monday Night Football.

To do so, the Niners will have to do something they haven't done since 1992: travel to Minnesota and beat the 1-0 Vikings in their home venue.

Sounds like San Francisco is due for a road victory in this head-to-head showdown.

A short week, coupled with travel across two time zones, makes this early game showdown challenging for head coach Kyle Shanahan and Co., even though the pound-for-pound matchup appears to be in the 49ers' favor.

CBS will carry the television broadcast, and there are plenty of streaming options available, too.

But, for those who opt to tune into the game via radio, there are a few different choices as well.

How to listen to 49ers vs. Vikings game on the radio

Niners fans in the Bay Area can tune into the game via flagship stations, KGO 810 AM and 107.7 The Bone FM to listen to Greg Papa on play-by-play duties with Tim Ryan handling color commentary.

Sacramento-area fans can listen to KHTK 1140 to hear the same broadcast, and the remainder of San Francisco's radio network can be viewed below:

Meanwhile, fans in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area can listen to the Vikings' broadcast tandem of Paul Allen and Pete Bercich on KTLK 1130 AM or KFAN 103.3 FM.

For SiriusXM subscribers, the 49ers' broadcast will be on channels 108 or 336, while Minnesota's broadcast will be on channels 158 or 231.

NFL+ subscribers can live stream a radio broadcast of the game, too.

The Niners and Vikings kick off on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. ET from US Bank Stadium.
