Inaugural 49ers 53-man roster prediction with 2024 NFL Draft now complete

It's never too early to think what the 49ers roster might look like going into the 2024 season. With the NFL Draft smog clearing, let's take a look at what the 53 might look like.

Offensive Line

Trent Williams, Aaron Banks, Jake Brendel, Jon Feliciano, Colton McKivitz, Dominick Puni, Ben Bartch, Jaylon Moore, Spencer Burford (9)

The 49ers ended up not being able to draft an outright starter at this position in the NFL Draft, narrowly missing out on Jordan Morgan and Graham Barton among others in Thursday's first round. As such, last year's starting five all retain their spots and would seem to be set in stone at the time of writing.

It gets interesting beyond that, though, as the 49ers drafting of Dominick Puni in the third round and Jarrett Kingston in the sixth round opens up the possibility to shuffle the depth chart at positions that have sometimes been wafer-thin when tested.

Puni seems a lock to make the roster, barring disaster, while Moore and Burford ought to also be looking over the shoulders at the likes of Kingston and free-agent signee Brandon Parker. Kingston may be too raw to command a 53-man spot immediately, however, and might be ticketed for the practice squad.

The one slight surprise that I have hanging on quite solidly to a roster spot is Ben Bartch, who arrived mid-season, but who's versatility at guard and center opens up the possibility of him remaining with the team, especially since the team re-signed him before he hit free agency in March.
