2. RB Matt Breida

With McCaffrey out, running back Jordan Mason has absolutely shined. He has rushed for 100 yards or more in three of four games for San Francisco thus far and has been relied upon heavily at times.

However, depth after him is pretty thin. Rookie Isaac Guerendo has shown a little promise, but his fumble during a kickoff return in the game against the Patriots could make head coach Kyle Shanahan trust him less.

That is where veteran running back Matt Breida could come in. The 29 year old began his career with the 49ers back in 2017 but eventually made his way back to the team when he was signed in early August. He played in the preseason but did not impress enough to make the team and he was cut.

The Niners could use him now, though. He could be a valuable depth piece behind Mason and Guerendo and would probably be an upgrade over Patrick Taylor.

Adding Breida would make a lot of sense.
