16 former 49ers who remain without a team in NFL free agency
Former 49ers who are free agents: OL Trent Brown
Trent Brown was another solid offensive lineman during his time with the 49ers. He played on the team from 2015-2017 and has continued a solid career with the Raiders and Patriots.
Brown is not a premier offensive lineman by any stretch, but he is solid. If there are teams out there in need of a solid tackle, he could be had for an affordable price.
It seemed like a reunion could work but that was before the Niners re-signed tackle Colton McKivitz.
Update: Brown has since signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Former 49ers who are free agents: DT Hassan Ridgeway
Moving onto another big man who plays on the opposite side of the ball, Hassan Ridgeway only spent one season with the 49ers. He appeared in 12 games for the team and had 28 tackles with one sack.
Last season, he was with Houston where he only played in three games. At the age of 29 there is probably a team out there willing to sign him as a depth piece on their defensive line.
The 49ers already have Jordan Elliott and Maliek Collins on their defensive interior, as well as Javon Hargrave, so a reunion can be ruled out.
Next, we turn to the offense.
