Corey Luciano was not seen as draftable by most coming into the NFL Draft, but he has a solid resume at Washington at a position that the 49ers need to find a backup for.

Welcome to another edition of The Undrafted Corner, as we take a look at the San Francisco 49ers' undrafted free-agent class that will be fighting for spots on the final roster as training camp and the preseason games inch ever closer.

While the Niners have a settled starter at center with Jake Brendel being rewarded for a strong season with a long-term contract, they are nevertheless very thin at depth behind him as they look to retool an offensive line that lost some personnel this offseason.

Corey Luciano wasn't a prospect who was seen as draftable by many, but he carries with him a pretty successful resume from his collegiate career at Washington that could hint at a spot on the roster for him.

Already a good size at 6-foot-4 and 307 pounds, Luciano was Washington’s starting center and was an All-PAC 12 honorable mention in 2022.

The 49ers need someone to step up in training camp to take the backup role, and it would help Luciano to get onto the roster if he can demonstrate the versatility and also take snaps at guard during training camp and in preseason games.

The good news for Luciano is he doesn't have anyone too entrenched on the roster to battle with, so an impressive preseason might be reason enough to keep him on. There's no such thing as too much blocking depth, so if Luciano demonstrates both ability and versatility he can be a surprise selection on the final roster.

While most people don't get too excited over UDFA offensive linemen, Luciano is an interesting prospect in a position of need for San Francisco whom will have more than a few eyes on him.
