While not being the most exciting game this season, Christian McCaffrey has scored to put the 49ers in the lead and start a brand new touchdown streak.

Running back Christian McCaffrey scored in the first quarter to give the San Francisco 49ers a 7-0 lead, in what's not been exactly the most exciting of games against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In doing so, it's time to start a new touchdown counter to see how many games in a row McCaffrey has scored!

One, it's currently sitting on one.

McCaffrey unfortunately didn't get over for a touchdown in a 35-7 rout of the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, which finished his old streak at 17 games and tied the NFL record in the process.

In the spirit of the sheer dominance of McCaffrey as well as the criticism the 49ers had in making the trade last season, it is now Niner Noise policy to make sure the counter is accurately updated:

McCaffrey touchdown streak counter: 1
Games remaining to beat the record: 17

While it would be well into next season before McCaffrey has a chance to get to the magical number of 18, we have every confidence in him.

Currently, the 49ers hold a 10-0 lead over the Buccaneers as the team looks to get to 7-3 ahead of a big NFC West matchup against the Seattle Seahawks next week which will determine who takes the top spot in the division.
