49ers vs. Saints: How to watch NFL preseason Week 2 game with and without cable

The 49ers host the Saints in Week 2 of the preseason, and here's how you can tune in live (even if you don't have a cable TV package).

The San Francisco 49ers are already facing a bevy of challenges just one week into the 2024 preseason, many of which include injuries to a number of key players.

In fact, those injuries convinced head coach Kyle Shanahan to cancel previously scheduled joint practices with the team his squad will face in Week 2 of the preseason, the New Orleans Saints, who were supposed to meet with the Niners in Irvine, California, before traveling north for an exhibition showdown at Levi's Stadium.

Yet the preseason bout will still take place, even if Shanahan is likely to rest the vast majority of his starters, as was the case for San Francisco's exhibition opener last weekend against the Tennessee Titans.

Last week's game was broadcast only in local television markets, making it difficult for 49ers fans outside of Northern California and the greater Nashville area to watch live on TV.

That won't be the case for those who wish to tune into the Niners' preseason Week 2 matchup, which will kick off on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. ET.

49ers vs. Saints preseason Week 2 TV broadcast

Fox will televise Sunday's bout between San Francisco and New Orleans, and fans can check with their local cable provider to see a list of affiliates.

Adam Amin will handle play-by-play duties, while Mark Sanchez will provide color commentary. Kristina Pink will be on the sidelines.

Additionally, NFL Network will broadcast a replay of the game on Monday, August 19 at 12:00 a.m. and again on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 1 a.m.

The 49ers will wrap up their preseason campaign the following week with a showdown at the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday, Aug. 23.
