49ers quarterback Brock Purdy Madden rating: 73

Asking around the NFL, most probably don't feel the Niners' quarterback room is a strength, especially because they don't have a proven "the guy" just yet under center.

So, that probably explains why Madden 24 rated quarterbacks Brock Purdy, Trey Lance and Sam Darnold at 73, 71 and 71, respectively.

Players in the low 70s and high 60s are typically backups at their respective positions, but Purdy showed far more than just average-backup status when he entered the fray for San Francisco late last season. With Purdy under center, the 49ers averaged nearly 10 more points per game than they did with their previous starter, Jimmy Garoppolo,

Sure, Purdy still has a lot to prove and doesn't quite have a sample size to justify anything in the 80s.

Still, is a 79 rating that difficult to do? Seriously.
