Saturday Night Live just celebrated 50 years of being an American comedy institution, and three San Francisco 49ers stars -- George Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, and Kyle Juszczyk -- all attended the most recent show with comedian Shane Gillis as the host.
Apparently, they are all friends with Gillis, so they went to go support as he hosted the show for the second time.
Some pictures of the 49ers stars can be viewed on Kittle's social media here. In one picture, all three Niners are standing at home base in Studio 8H where the host delivers their monologue. Tight end Greg Olsen also appears to have been in attendance.
In another, Kittle is sitting in the area where the house band sits during the show, and in the final photo, he is pictured with comedy legend Mike Meyers while wearing a Wayne's World t-shirt. The legendary comedic actor who was an SNL cast member from 1989 to 1995 and went on to star in the Austin Powers and Shrek franchises returned to the show to portray Elon Musk.
Seeing Kittle at the legendary comedy institution makes one realize that he should host the show someday. He may not quite be famous enough yet, but we know he has the comedic chops to do the job. Tight end Travis Kelce hosted a few years ago and we know that Kittle has eclipsed him as the most talented tight end in the NFL. So, if we are basing it off of talent and not how famous your girlfriend is, then it would only be fair to let Kittle host.
Kittle would not be the first 49er to host the show, though. Legendary Niners quarterback Joe Montana co-hosted the show with Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton in 1987. The two even got to be in one of Dana Carvey's hilarious "Church Lady" sketches.
Even if Kittle never gets to host, it is cool he and his teammates got to experience SNL in person. General manager John Lynch recently said he wants Kittle to retire with San Francisco, and if that comes to pass, Kittle could definitely have a career in comedy or perhaps even wrestling.
No matter what he does, the fun-loving tight end is going to be entertaining while doing it.
