One of the San Francisco 49ers' more favorite picks from day three of the 2026 NFL Draft was the selection of Washington cornerback Ephesians Prysock at No. 139 overall.
Aside from having a provocative name, Prysock could boast what it takes to work his way up the depth chart, especially in light of how thin the crop is behind the starting trio of Renardo Green, Upton Stout and Deommodore Lenoir.
And if Prysock gets some help acclimating to life at the NFL level, Lenoir might be the one who winds up providing it.
During his first interview with Bay Area reporters after being drafted, Prysock revealed that Lenoir isn't exactly a stranger, assisted with the fact both hail from Southern California.
"Yeah, actually my two older brothers played in high school with him," Prysock said of Lenoir, via David Bonilla of 49ers Webzone. "So I know him a little bit. I'm pretty familiar with him."
Talk about a bonus.
Deommodore Lenoir is an easy mentor to 49ers rookie Ephesians Prysock
Lenoir had a similar path to NFL notoriety, emerging from another Pacific Northwest school, the University of Oregon, before being drafted by the Niners in Round 5 back in 2021. Since then, Lenoir has turned into San Francisco's best defensive back and one of the better corners across the league.
Prysock, understandably, wants to get to that point.
While the two never got to see each other on the field during the collegiate years, thanks to their ages and classes not overlapping, one can't help but wonder if Prysock and his brothers turned on some UofO tape not too long ago, and watching Lenoir on Sundays since joining the 49ers had to be in play, too.
Regardless, Lenoir unquestionably will take the rookie cornerback under his wing this offseason, hopefully teaching him the nuances of life at the pro ranks.
And if it's worthwhile teaching, it might not be too long before Prysock becomes a household name in his own right.
