Much was made over Bad Bunny's Super Bowl LX performance last weekend at Levi's Stadium.
There was a lot to unpack there. People were dressed up as bushes, a real couple was wedded and Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin were also part of the performance.
For fans of the San Francisco 49ers, though, perhaps the explanation of Bad Bunny's outfit came as a bit of revelation.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio MartÃnez Ocasio, revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that the jersey he wore during his halftime performance was a tribute to his late uncle Cutito.
MartÃnez Ocasio also revealed that his uncle was a huge Niners fan and that he learned about the NFL through Cutito.
Sadly, Tio Cutito passed away two years ago, unexpectedly. So the 64 on Bad Bunny's jersey was a nod to his uncle's birth year of 1964, and the name on the back of the jersey was his uncle's last name.
MartÃnez Ocasio would go on to tell Harper's Bazaar that he wished he could have taken his uncle to the Super Bowl before he passed, but honoring him with the jersey was somewhat of a way to bring him there symbolically.
He would wrap that story by saying, "Now all we need is for the 49ers to one day win the Super Bowl again."
Now, many people are aware that the likes of rapper E-40 and actor Jeremy Renner are Niners fans.
Which celebrities, like Bad Bunny, are lesser-known fans of the red and gold?
Let's take a look at three.
Hasan Minhaj
Many might recognize actor and comedian Hasan Minhaj from his time at The Daily Show, his Netflix series Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj or his many stand-up specials.
What most might not know is that he is a fan of the 49ers. The Northern California native, Minhaj grew up rooting for the Niners, according to the talk he gave at the 2021 Horizon Summit (hosted by the 49ers).
Minhaj also disclosed things like the fact that he owned a Steve Young poster and a Deion Sanders jersey as a youngster.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
You may have seen actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in his newest Disney+ show, Wonder Man, or you may recognize him from his roles in movies like The Trial of the Chicago 7 or The Matrix Resurrections.
Abdul-Mateen was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and moved to the Bay Area in his youth. In a 2019 interview with Rich Eisen, he stated how he was both a fan of the 49ers and the New Orleans Saints.
Nate Diaz
Mixed martial artist and former UFC fighter Nate Diaz is seen frequently at Levi's Stadium showing his support for the red and gold.
The Stockton native was cheering on the Niners when they played the Chicago Bears on Dec. 28, 2025, and showed his support for the team through a post on X.
Diaz was in attendance for the home opener for the 49ers in 2024 and even took a picture with head coach Kyle Shanahan.
