49ers will dodge freezing NFL weather and snow when they visit Packers
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers will happily miss freezing-cold weather and snow when they travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers in Week 12.
The last time the San Francisco 49ers visited Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, wildly extreme NFL weather played an impact.
Indeed, the turf at Lambeau Field in the 2022 NFC divisional round looked like the "frozen tundra," effected by snowfall and dreadfully cold conditions that certainly gave fans the chills despite watching from the comfort of warm homes.
Oh, and the Niners won that game, in case you forgot.
This time, San Francisco heads to Green Bay amid a 5-5 record and coming off a gut-punching home loss to the Seattle Seahawks. With the Packers surging at 7-3, head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad already has enough headaches to worry about.
Including recent news that quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) is in danger of missing the contest.
Shanahan and Co. need to remove as many X-factors and negatives as possible to stand a chance, and games at Lambeau late in the season always bring the opportunity for extreme inclement weather.
Fortunately for the Niners, Week 12 doesn't appear to be extreme.
Week 12 NFL weather between 49ers and Packers is definitely not extreme
For San Francisco's players who participated in that divisional-round game in January of 2022, Week 12 at Lambeau will feel like a comparative heat wave.
According to the latest NFL weather forecast, there is a 28-percent chance of rain, but kickoff temperature will be 43 degrees and staying fairly constant through all four quarters.
Winds will be southeasterly at six miles per hour.
Considering a late-November game at Lambeau, this is about as ideal as it gets, and the 49ers can be thankful it's not freezing and not snowing, although the potentially rainy conditions aren't necessarily great.
The Niners and Packers kick off on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
