There are certainly several people within the San Francisco 49ers' building who wish the 2026 regular-season schedule was a bit different.
Ideally, the Niners wouldn't have to play two separate international games, particularly with one of them being a Week 1 showdown across the Pacific against the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne, Australia.
On top of that, head coach Kyle Shanahan's squad will travel more miles this season than any other team in NFL history.
Sheesh.
Of course, this might lead some fans to think the league "has it out" for San Francisco and never gives the franchise a break.
Looking at other teams, including one within the NFC West, however, there are some oddities the 49ers certainly don't have to face.
Including one the rival Seattle Seahawks will have to deal with.
Seahawks will play on 6 different days of the week this season
The Hawks will certainly be must-watch TV this season, and their Week 1 opener against their Super Bowl opponent from last February, the New England Patriots, won't lack for buzz and attention.
Oh, and it's on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
In fact, as CBS Sports' John Breech pointed out, Seattle will have games on six different days of the week, the lone exception being a Tuesday:
The Seahawks will get a rare Wednesday game with their opener against the Patriots. In Week 15, they have a Saturday game against the Eagles and they follow that up with a Week 16 game on a Friday against the Rams, which will fall on Christmas. And of course, they also play on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. Only two other teams have played on six different days in a single season. Back in 1927, the New York Yankees played on every day except for Monday. In 2024, the Chiefs played on every day except for Tuesday.
Honestly, games falling between Thursday through Monday aren't anything exceptional now, particularly with the league taking over both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
But that Wednesday opener sure makes things provocative.
At least the 49ers don't have to deal with that, although it probably sounds better than their own reality when compared side by side.
