49ers would have nightmares if Maxx Crosby was traded to one of these 3 teams

The San Francisco 49ers have been linked to edge rusher Maxx Crosby this offseason. However, the Niners are not the only team who will have interest in the disgruntled Las Vegas Raiders star.

Whenever a great edge rusher like Crosby gets mentioned in trade talks, you can bet a lot of good teams are going to kick the tires on a potential deal.

Let’s take a look at three Crosby trade destinations that would be an absolute nightmare for San Francisco.

Seattle Seahawks

This one is pretty obvious. The Seattle Seahawks are coming off a Super Bowl title that they won thanks in large part to a dominant defensive unit.

Adding Crosby to that formidable defensive line would be absolutely diabolical.

San Francisco put up just nine points total and scored no touchdowns in its final two contests against Seattle. While the 49ers were undermanned, there is clearly a lot of room for improvement.

Adding Crosby to that already stout defense would make Seattle very tough to beat in the NFC West, so the Niners have to hope he ends up anywhere else.

Los Angeles Rams

Crosby going to the Los Angeles Rams would be only slightly less disgusting than him ending up with the Seahawks. The 49ers have the burden of being in a truly competitive division, so him ending up with either of their two chief rivals would be awfully difficult.

The Rams may not have as strong of a defense as that of the Seahawks, but they are still solid and may even approach the Seahawks’ level if they were to add a guy who had 10 sacks last season.

Green Bay Packers

In thinking of other NFC teams the 49ers would prefer Crosby to stay away from, the Green Bay Packers would be a brutal destination since they already have perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, Micah Parsons.

The Niners will not face the Packers in the 2026 regular season, but if the two ended up meeting in the playoffs as they’ve made a habit of in recent history, then that would make for a very tough matchup.

The 49ers could avoid all these nightmare scenarios by simply trading for Crosby themselves. They certainly need the firepower given hey had the fewest sacks of any team in the NFL last season.

But if they are unable to do that, then the only choice is to hope he stays far away from the NFC West.
