If you were looking forward to the San Francisco 49ers making a blockbuster move ahead of November's NFL trade deadline, the deal with the Indianapolis Colts was it—reuniting with Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
Unfortunately, at least for those hoping general manager John Lynch would do a lot more for his 6-1 Niners, there probably won't be any other splash deals in the making.
Speaking to KNBR 680, NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco indicated Lynch and Co. were probably done with the blockbuster-type moves leading up to the deadline, suggesting that any other trade would likely be of the under-the-radar ilk.
Matt Maiocco: 49ers are likely done with blockbuster trades
Maiocco, who's awfully plugged into what San Francisco is doing or not doing, hinted at the likelihood of Buckner being the sole splash move on Lynch's part when he spoke on the Murph & Markus Show.
Instead, the insider suggested any other moves wouldn't be unlike what the 49ers did a year ago in acquiring defensive end Keion White from the New England Patriots.
Matt Maiocco doesn't see the Niners making another big trade for an expensive player before the 11/10 deadline.

I think that what the 49ers could do would be something similar to what they did last year in getting Keion White where you don't necessarily know too much about the player, but he's on a fixed salary for this year and the next, and maybe he's fallen out of favor or doesn't fit a new coach's scheme.
I could see where something like that would happen, but with as many high-priced players as the 49ers have on the team now, currently, and who remain under contract to the team for years to come, I don't see them adding another [age] 30-plus or $25 million player and giving up the first-round draft picks. I think the 49ers value those first-round draft picks.
Maiocco mentioned New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson as a name who'd likely be ruled out by this stance.
Of course, acquring White last year turned into a significant boost for the Niners' pass-rushing depth, particularly in the wake of defensive end Nick Bosa's injury issues. And it's likely Lynch is perusing the back end of team rosters for tradable assets that may ultimately fit San Francisco's wish list.
The NFL trade deadline hits on Nov. 10.
