49ers fans can laugh at Seahawks' offensive implosion after DK Metcalf news

With Tyler Lockett leaving the Hawks, it appears as if DK Metcalf now wants out, too.

While the 49ers have their own problems, the Seahawks appear to be imploding all on their own, too.

It's not just the San Francisco 49ers who apparently have wide receiver problems.

The Seattle Seahawks do, too.

Sure, the Niners just said goodbye to one of their stars, Deebo Samuel, shipping him off to the Washington Commanders after he requested a trade. And San Francisco has reportedly entertained trading fellow wideout Brandon Aiyuk, too, only a year after his own contemptuous trade request and extension standoff.

That said, the Hawks are undergoing their own issues at the position, kickstarted by the pre-NFL free agency release of veteran receiver Tyler Lockett.

But, wait. There's more.

DK Metcalf wants out from Seahawks, 49ers fans will hate to see him go

Mere minutes after the Lockett news broke, NFL Network reported fellow Seattle wide receiver D.K. Metcalf requested a trade from the organization:

Exactly how much of a link there is between the Lockett release and Metcalf request isn't clear, but it's more than evident the latter wants a fresh start somewhere else.

While Metcalf is easily one of the Seahawks' most fearsome offensive weapons, the 49ers have made it something of a habit to "get under his skin" during games over the last few years.

In that sense, Niners fans may actually miss seeing Metcalf visibly frustrated twice a year.

Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir, who didn't shy away from talking trash to Metcalf last year, was one of the first to sound off about the wideout's trade request:

L. O. L.

Perhaps Seattle pulls a San Francisco and honors Metcalf's trade request, not unlike what the 49ers did with Samuel.

While Niners fans won't mind seeing a weakened NFC West rival, they'll certainly miss frustrating Metcalf.

We know Lenoir already will.
