Best Twitter reactions after Trent Williams flings K’Von Wallace in the NFC Championship game
In a game that felt increasingly stacked against the San Francisco 49ers, emotions boiled over with a little more than 4 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, resulting in a benches-clearing brawl with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Or at least, the San Francisco sideline emptied. The Philadelphia players whose thoughts were more turned to the Super Bowl kept a little bit more in check.
In the end, just two players were ejected: 49ers OL Trent Williams and safety K’Von Wallace of the Eagles.
The highlight came when Williams flung Wallace to the ground, resulting in fists being thrown by both teams.

Not much seemed to go right for the 49ers in the game. The Eagles went up 7-0 in the first quarter after Davonta Smith’s seemingly incredible catch — which a slow-motion replay showed actually hit the ground.
Then quarterback Brock Purdy injured his elbow while fumbling the ball in the second quarter. Backup Josh Johnson struggled to move the ball and fumbled once himself. Then he, too, was injured, hitting his head violently against the turf while being tackled and leaving for the concussion protocol, which resulted in Purdy’s return. Even though he could still barely throw a pass.
Three fumbles lost total, multiple defensive miscues, and more flags than you can count later, the Niners found themselves down 31-7.
