49ers stud: RB Christian McCaffrey

One of the ways the 49ers were going to help out Brock Purdy was by ensuring their offensive playmakers made big plays and by establishing the ground game early and often.

In recent weeks, Christian McCaffrey had made plenty of impacts in the receiving game but not necessarily as a pure rusher. However, with the Buccaneers somewhat susceptible defending against the run, one could figure McCaffrey might put together another one of those statement games on the ground.

Well, he did. And McCaffrey was equally as good as a receiver, too.

McCaffrey hauled in a 27-yard touchdown pass from Purdy, yes, and it was impressive:

Yet McCaffrey also added a whopping 119 yards on 14 carries rushing, averaging an astounding 8.5 yards per carry and tallying yet another score on the ground.

It might not have been quite as impressive as his three-touchdown trifecta against the Los Angeles Rams weeks ago, but McCaffrey was another key reason why the Niners blew out the Bucs on Sunday.
