49ers vs. Saints predictions: Everyone is picking San Francisco
By Peter Panacy
Combing through the experts’ picks for Week 12, the 49ers are all but universally chosen to beat the Saints at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.
The oddsmakers over at WynnBET are listing the San Francisco 49ers as nine-point home favorites for their Week 12 matchup against the 4-7 New Orleans Saints at Levi’s Stadium this Sunday.
It makes a lot of sense why.
The Niners seem to have gotten hot at the right time, reeling off three consecutive victories over the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals. During that stretch, San Francisco has kept its opponents off the scoreboard in the second half, while head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense has seemingly found some rhythm.
Especially with how things panned out over the last three quarters of the Monday Night Football win over the Cardinals.
New Orleans figures to be one of the easier opponents remaining on the 49ers’ schedule. And while the Saints have pulled off some impressive victories this season, including a 2-1 record against the NFC West this season, the Niners should have no trouble knocking off New Orleans as long as they don’t fall victim to the ever-present trap-game outcome.
Perhaps it’s scary, but all the experts out there are predicting San Francisco to avoid the trap-game pitfall.
Experts universally predict 49ers to beat Saints in Week 12
Combing through the accumulated list of experts’ game picks for Week 12, there are zero who are predicting the Saints pull off the upset.
Seriously, comb through nflpickwatch.com and see if you can find an expert not predicting the 49ers to win.
CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco had the following to say about a would-be Niners victory:
"The 49ers are coming off an impressive victory over the Cardinals in Mexico. They look to be rolling with all their weapons on offense. The Saints beat the Rams last week, with Andy Dalton playing well. I think they will hang around in this game as the 49ers are on a short week. It’s closer than expected.Pick: 49ers 24, Saints 20"
Pro Football Network’s Dallas Robinson echoed a similar sentiment about New Orleans covering but San Francisco nevertheless winning by a score of 27-22:
"Jimmy G has four 4-TD games in his career — three have come against the Cardinals, while the other was against the Saints, whom the 49ers will face on Sunday.New Orleans isn’t going anywhere this year, and every loss only makes its incredibly aggressive offseason look more misguided. Andy Dalton posted the best passer rating of his career against the Rams in Week 11, so Dennis Allen can’t change quarterbacks unless he wants to lose the locker room."

There are plenty of other takes out there, some of which have the Saints covering. But none are looking at the total upset and trap game.
Hopefully, that’s how things pan out for the 49ers, who’ll look to maintain their hold on the NFC West with the hot-trailing Seattle Seahawks only in second place because of the Niners’ perfect 4-0 record within the division.
Seattle hosts the three-win Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Provided San Francisco handles its business against New Orleans, following what every expert is predicting, there won’t be any changes in the NFC West standings.
The 49ers and Saints square off on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 4:25 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium.
