The 49ers host the Chargers for Sunday Night Football in Week 10, and Niner Noise breaks down the betting odds, injuries and how you can watch live.

The San Francisco 49ers would like nothing less than a three-game sweep of both Southern California NFL teams, and having beaten the Los Angeles Rams twice this year already, the focus for head coach Kyle Shanahan and Co. now turns on the visiting Los Angeles Chargers for Sunday Night Football in Week 10.

Sure, the Bolts might have a better record. But the Niners have a notable advantage that plays right into what LA doesn’t do well: defend the run.

With San Francisco’s recent blockbuster pickup of All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey, who took over Week 8 against the Rams, one might figure Shanahan has nothing but creative ideas on how to make it two games in a row where McCaffrey is the driving X-factor.

Especially considering Los Angeles has surrendered at least 200 rush yards in three of its last four games.

On top of that, the 49ers have been getting healthier, especially after their Week 9 bye, while the Chargers’ injury challenges have trended in the opposite direction.

49ers injury report vs. Chargers Week 10

The Niners’ Week 10 injury report is considerably smaller than what fans have been accustomed to for much of the year:

  • DT Arik Armstead (foot): OUT
  • CB Jason Verrett (Achilles): OUT
  • EDGE Samson Ebukam (quad, Achilles): Doubtful

Verrett, who suffered a torn Achilles during practice, goes to season-ending injured reserve, while San Francisco will look to activate running back Elijah Mitchell (knee), linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair (knee), offensive lineman Colton McKivitz (knee) and EDGE Jordan Willis (ankle) from the IR list.

Meanwhile, the Chargers are dealing with a notable rash of injuries. Two of their best offensive players, wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, will both miss Week 10.

49ers vs. Chargers odds, spread, over/under & betting pick Week 10

Originally, the oddsmakers over at WynnBET opened Sunday Night Football with the 49ers as 6.5-point home favorites, but the spread has increased slightly to -7 in favor of the Niners.

Perhaps those oddsmakers noted the healthy return of All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who missed Week 8’s win over the Rams because of a hamstring injury and is now in tandem with McCaffrey against a Chargers defense that can’t stop the ground game, giving up an average of 5.7 yards per carry.

San Francisco’s moneyline is -320, whereas LA’s is +255.

The over/under for the game is 45.5.

The 49ers would probably like to control the clock via the ground game, meaning a high-scoring affair isn’t necessarily a guarantee, and our original 27-17 victory prediction for the Niners applies here once more.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
