Needless to say, Twitter was wowed and amazed by what Christian McCaffrey was able to do in the 49ers’ surging win over the Rams in Week 8.
All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey might have created a modest amount of buzz when he debuted with the San Francisco 49ers against the Kansas City Chiefs back in Week 7.
Week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams, however, was McCaffrey’s domination party with his new team.
The Niners pulled off the impressive 31-14 victory over their NFC West rivals to improve to 4-4, getting a crucial third inter-divisional win in the process. But that wasn’t the story.
McCaffrey was.
In light of San Francisco being without two of its most important offensive weapons, wide receiver Deebo Samuel and fullback Kyle Juszczyk, McCaffrey was going to see a much heavier dose of action than what he experienced against Kansas City.
And, wow, McCaffrey delivered.
On the ground, McCaffrey rushed 18 times for 94 yards, averaging 5.2 yards per attempt, and he also added eight catches for 55 yards.
Oh, and he also scored a touchdown on both rushing and receiving plays, too.
Yet that wasn’t the kicker. Instead, McCaffrey’s passing touchdown to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was actually quite a thing of beauty, and that certainly generated some buzz when the 49ers were trying to get back in the game after trailing early:

That play was pretty exemplary, and it even generated quite the Twitter reaction from FanSided’s own NFL insider, Matt Verderame:
Christian McCaffrey the best QB in San Francisco? Let's have the conversation.

We’re not sure if McCaffrey will take over throwing the ball from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but the running back’s toss was pretty nice.

Verderame’s humorous take is a great reaction, but that certainly wasn’t the only one that’ll generate some buzz.
Let’s take a look at what else was going on out there in the Twitter world when McCaffrey was handling his business, starting off with these gems:
Christian McCaffrey being trusted by Kyle Shanahan more than Jimmy Garoppolo to throw a deep pass is everything you need to know!

I feel poorly for Panthers fans but all of McCaffrey's cool plays are just so much cooler in a 49ers jersey. I cannot explain why, but this is the truth

What makes it sweeter is knowing that the Rams wanted him and he's kicking their ass right now.
Yes, the Rams were also in on McCaffrey, but the Carolina Panthers wisely traded him to San Francisco instead.
And, in only his second game with the 49ers, McCaffrey did something pretty astounding, as KNBR 680 pointed out:

The “hat trick,” as his Niners teammate, long-snapper Taybor Pepper, pointed out:

Now, heading into their bye week, San Francisco has to be feeling pretty good about its new No. 1 weapon and the prospects of getting healthier for the second half of the season.
