The 49ers visit SoFI Stadium (Levi’s South) for a matchup with the Rams in Week 8, and Niner Noise breaks down some of the provocative prop bets.

Subtracting what happened in the 2022 NFC Championship game last February, the San Francisco 49ers have absolutely dominated their NFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, currently boasting a seven-game regular-season win streak.

And, as has been the case two seasons in a row, the Niners just so happen to face head coach Sean McVay’s squad in what’s essentially a “get right” scenario in the wake of dropping back-to-back games against the Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs in Weeks 6 and 7, respectively.

Currently, according to the oddsmakers at FanDuel, San Francisco is a 1.5-point road favorite for this contest, and it wouldn’t be shocking whatsoever to see the crowd at SoFI Stadium almost completely blanketed in red as it was for both times the 49ers played there last season.

That’ll almost make Week 8 a home game for the Niners, and perhaps they’ll take advantage of that and some of the other struggles Los Angeles has dealt with this season.

Let’s explore some fun prop bets that fans might be interested in for this NFC West showdown.

49ers vs. Rams prop bet No. 1: Lowest-scoring quarter (Q4, +550)

The betting-odds favorite for this contest is actually the opening frame, coming in at +210 and trailed closely by the third quarter at +220.

Interestingly enough, though, the fourth quarter is way up there at +550, which is a bit of a shocker considering both teams’ issues finding the end zone in the final frame of regulation.

San Francisco is tied for 17th in fourth-quarter scoring with an average of 5.7 points, yet LA is even worse, ranked next to last in the NFL with an average of only 1.7 points.

There’s a good chance of awfully little offense taking place in the fourth quarter on Sunday.

49ers vs. Rams prop bet No. 2: San Francisco gets first field goal (-112)

It’s hard to envision a 49ers game not including a field goal by kicker Robbie Gould, and one might fault head coach Kyle Shanahan for relying too much on field goals instead of touchdowns against Kansas City last Sunday.

But Los Angeles doesn’t boast a Chiefs-like offense, and Shanahan has historically gone with the “always take the points when on the road” approach, and the Niners likely won’t veer from that plan when it comes to their first scoring drive on Sunday.

Particularly when considering Shanahan’s offense currently ranks 15th in red-zone scoring.

49ers vs. Rams prop bet No. 3: Over/under on Niners TDs scored (2.5)

The oddsmakers have made note of San Francisco’s offensive woes the last few weeks, and the over/under on 49ers touchdowns for this game is at 2.5 with the under being the favorite at -140.

That wouldn’t be a bad play, honestly, given the Niners are averaging just a shade over 20 points per game, and that includes defensive scoring, meaning that third touchdown has proven to be awfully elusive.

However, betting the over at +110 would be intriguing knowing that Shanahan wants to utilize running back Christian McCaffrey more than the All-Pro’s San Francisco debut in Week 7, and that’ll likely open up the 49ers offense as a whole.

A third touchdown doesn’t seem too elusive, right?

The Niners and Rams kick off on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 4:25 p.m. ET from SoFI Stadium.
