The 49ers look to sweep the 2022 NFC West series against the Rams, but they’ll need to do so after an embarrassing loss to the Chiefs.

The San Francisco 49ers’ Week 7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs might as well be a low point on the season.

The 44-23 debacle probably said more about how the Niners would fare against one of the top contenders for a Super Bowl this season, and now in the wake of a two-game losing streak, head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad is once again looking for a “get right” game.

Fortunately, San Francisco has had a few of those against its NFC West rivals, the Los Angeles Rams.

Yes, the 49ers lost to Los Angeles in the NFC Championship game last February. But, at least in terms of regular-season play, Shanahan is 7-0 against LA over the last seven games, including the Niners’ 24-9 Week 4 domination back at Levi’s Stadium.

The Rams are dealing with a slew of their own problems in the wake of their Super Bowl win last season, including a lack of playmaking options beyond Cooper Kupp and an ineffective offensive line.

And while Los Angeles is coming off a bye week and should be fully rested, San Francisco can look at an opponent against which it’s had plenty of success to help get back on track.

49ers vs. Rams betting odds Week 8

Despite the 49ers suffering such a lopsided loss to the Chiefs, the oddsmakers over at WynnBET are still feeling pretty good about the Niners’ chances heading to Southern California, listing San Francisco as a two-point road favorite.

The 49ers’ moneyline is -130, while LA’s is +110.

The over/under is currently 42.0.

49ers vs. Rams prediction Week 8

The Niners may have been completely outclassed by Kansas City in Week 7, but Week 8 offers the opportunity to get right.

Just like Week 4 did after San Francisco started off the season with a 1-2 record.

The 49ers’ historical domination over the Rams is something that likely plays out again in Week 8, only this time, the Niners look to get even healthier than they were before, and they’ll also look to incorporate their newest addition, running back Christian McCaffrey.

McCaffrey made a dent during his debut in Week 7, but one might expect him to play an even bigger role against Los Angeles.

At least based on our opening prediction, San Francisco gets back on track and takes advantage of that suspect LA offensive line, bouncing back with a solid 27-14 win over its NFC West rivals in Week 8.

The 49ers and Rams kick off on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 4:25 p.m. ET from SoFI Stadium.
