Fantasy football sit ’em: TE George Kittle

Week 7 should be a premier matchup between two of the NFL’s elite tight ends, the Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and the Niners’ George Kittle.

Kelce has long since ensured he’s the better fantasy option, even though pundits will still call Kittle the best all-around tight end, especially when blocking is involved. However, stemming from the halfway point of last season, Kittle’s prowess as a top fantasy football contributor has diminished significantly.

And after missing the first two weeks of 2022 because of an injury, Kittle’s fantasy value has been underwhelming thus far to date, with him recording a mere 19 catches for 182 yards and not having yet found the end zone.

On top of the lack of production, Kansas City has also done a good job at containing tight ends this season, giving up just 28 catches for 257 yards (11th best) and four touchdowns over six weeks.

It’s likely Kelce, not Kittle, winds up having the better game of the two, and the margin between these notable weapons is probably not going to be close.

If owners have another viable option to start over Kittle, it might be smart to go that route.
