Our friend Al Sacco of the No Huddle Podcast stops by to talk about the 49ers’ quarterbacking conundrum and what awaits Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (and we don’t judge you if you do), you’re probably aware of all the speculation surrounding San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Are the Niners going to find a trade partner for him, or will he simply be subjected to a release if there are no takers? And what about keeping Jimmy G as a backup to the presumed starter, Trey Lance? Is that viable?

We’ve also talked at length about Garoppolo’s future on the Niner Noise Podcast, especially as it’s been one of the dominant storylines San Francisco has had to face this offseason.

But to get some additional insight from the outside, Al Sacco of 49ers Webzone’s No Huddle Podcast joined forces with Niner Noise’s Robert Morrison and me to give his thoughts on what the future might hold.

From a financial standpoint, San Francisco could feasibly keep both Garoppolo and Lance, yet that might eat into whatever money should be reserved for lucrative extensions pending for All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel and Pro Bowl EDGE Nick Bosa.

However, as Sacco pointed out, the headaches that would be associated with such a plan might actually end up being too much for the 49ers to bear.

“You can’t go into the season with that kind of circus atmosphere again,” Sacco noted.

That’s only one nugget from the podcast, and you can check out all of what Sacco had to say by listening below:

There’s plenty of good discussion in there.
