The fellas are back to talk about the 49ers’ offseason workouts and whether or not the offensive line is a bigger worry than we think. Peter Panacy makes a major announcement.

It’s been some time since we here at Niner Noise dished out a flavorful episode of the Niner Noise Podcast, and you’d have to go back to shortly after the 2022 NFL Draft to check out the last time both Robert Morrison and I collaborated.

The San Francisco 49ers haven’t been without storylines since then, though, especially in the wake of All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel returning to the facility to at least attend mandatory minicamp, suggesting the two sides are at least coming closer after the tense standoff and trade request that existed earlier this offseason.

While there are still a lot of things to work out between the Niners and their star wide receiver, at least it’s a step in the right direction.

No Godfather-like can’t-refuse deals to see here.

49ers QB Trey Lance impressing during offseason workouts

Of course, no offseason podcast would be complete without chatting it up about quarterbacks Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. And while Jimmy G remains away from the facility rehabbing from offseason shoulder surgery, Lance got all those first-team reps during organized team activities and minicamp.

The second-year pro impressed, too, although he should be at this point. There’s no real pass rush, and cornerbacks can’t jam wide receivers at the line of scrimmage because physical contact isn’t allowed.

If Lance was struggling during these practices, though, that’d be another problem.

Despite this, does San Francisco elect to keep Garoppolo if it can’t find a trade partner? We break that possibility down, too.

Yes, the 49ers offensive line is a concern after Alex Mack’s retirement

The Niner Noise Podcast wholeheartedly agreed Pro Bowl center Alex Mack’s retirement creates problems the 49ers need to solve, yet they had to know the chances of this happening were big, right?

Either way, we discuss how the contingency plans are looking and why the offensive line’s interior might be a primary weakness facing Lance in his first full year as a starter.

It’s definitely a point of concern.

Peter Panacy makes a big announcement

Those close to me know this has been coming for a while, but there’s a pretty major announcement I broke on the Niner Noise Podcast you won’t want to miss.

Don’t just tune in to find out what that is, be sure to subscribe to the podcast wherever you get them, give it a five-star rating and share it with all your Niners friends and family.
