49ers 2022 NFL Draft target No. 3: CB Joshua Williams, Fayetteville State

It is hard to project where small-school phenom Joshua Williams will be drafted this coming weekend, but whoever drafts him will have done extensive research on the Fayetteville State Bronco and felt secure in growing his potential.

Possessing a sleek 6-foot-3 and 195-pound frame, Williams has the prototypical size and speed that NFL GMs drool over once the draft arrives.

The natural questions asked about Williams and his draft status mainly involve the lack of top talent he played against in college.

If Williams and his 4.53 40-yard time, along with his other measurables, can entice the 49ers to take a flyer on him, the third round seems about right. The Niners own two third-round picks, Nos. 93 and 105 overall, so drafting Williams might be easier for them than other prospects on this list.

The team also brought in Williams to a pre-draft meeting, so let’s wait and see if he will make a return visit to San Francisco as a new cornerback addition.
