49ers roster: 5 Niners who’ve shouldered the load through Week 11

No. 3: 49ers Left Tackle Trent Williams
Another season, another year in which veteran left tackle Trent Williams will be a Pro Bowler.
Pro Football Focus doesn’t just list Williams as the No. 1 overall tackle this season with an elite-level 97.6 overall grade, that mark makes him the top offensive lineman.
Period.
The 49ers offensive line has had some question marks over the course of the year, particularly towards the right side of the line with a so-so right guard, Daniel Brunskill, and right tackle Mike McGlinchey being shelved on injured reserve with a season-ending quad injury. His fill-ins, Jaylon Moore and Tom Compton, haven’t exactly delivered upper-echelon results.

But as far as consistency goes, and consistency including elite-level play, Williams has been that and then some.
The Niners are getting the kind of performance that justified the record-setting contract Williams signed with San Francisco during the offseason, completely eliminating any concern about him being a liability.
Instead, Williams has been a massive boost to the 49ers’ efforts in the trenches on the left side of the O-line.
