49ers fantasy football: Start ’em, sit ’em picks for Week 7
SIT EM: 49ers Running Back Trey Sermon
We just spoke about Trey Sermon’s running mate in the previous slide, and while many do like Sermon as a player, he just cannot be trusted when it comes to fantasy football right now.
The third-round NFL Draft pick out of Ohio State hasn’t been awful this year when given the chance, but his total production is lacking and he clearly has fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. Figuring out why that’s the case is another story altogether. But as far as fantasy football value goes, Sermon is little more than a handcuff to those with Elijah Mitchell rostered as a starter.

Sermon got a singular touch against the Cardinals, which goes to show just how little head coach Kyle Shanahan trusts him right now. When a player is in the Shanahan doghouse, he needs to be completely removed from your fantasy radar.
Sermon needs to be dropped in all leagues unless you need that handcuff, but more importantly, don’t let him anywhere near your starting lineup.
