START EM: 49ers Running Back Elijah Mitchell

Head coach Kyle Shanahan made it clear last game that rookie running back Elijah Mitchell is still the big man on campus when it comes to the Niners running back group. Fellow rookie Trey Sermon may have gotten some playing time in Mitchell’s absence, lasting two games because of a shoulder injury, but no time was wasted in Mitchell’s return to action when he out-touched Sermon nine carries to one in San Francisco’s Week 5 loss against the Arizona Cardinals.

Mitchell is the undisputed lead back in this 49ers rushing stable, and although he only has one touchdown on the season, it’s certainly possible to see a potential breakout game in his next start against the Colts.

Look for Mitchell to rush for about 70 yards and a touchdown.

And as far as fantasy value is concerned, lock Mitchell into your starting line ups ASAP!
