NFL Draft Pick No. 24: Jaylen Waddle, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Jacksonville pulls off a surprise, trading back in the first round with a package of picks sent off to the Pittsburgh Steelers to get their third pick along with Nos. 1 and 25.

And why wouldn’t the Jaguars do this, with such a dynamic deep threat as Jaylen Waddle still on the board for them to pair with such an accurate thrower as Trevor Lawrence?

Waddle has drawn some comparisons to Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill in how dynamic he is as a deep threat. He played only six games in 2020 but had 28 catches for 591 yards and four touchdowns.

Waddle will need to develop consistency, as we’ve seen many supposed dynamic deep threats fizzle and die in the NFL, but he certainly can do that with the talented Lawrence as his quarterback.
